The founder of our company, Dr Moafi, extends a warm welcome. Our team is comprised of highly experienced psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, and psychiatrists in London.
Our exceptional practitioners specialize in short- and long-term counselling, psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy for a wide range of issues, from everyday worries to complex psychological disorders. Established in 2006, we are well-known as London’s top therapy providers.
The therapy rooms at Expert therapy are located in a world-renowned medical center. Additionally, we run Expert Therapy Platform, which allows therapists to practice from their own rooms across the UK.
The diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be challenging since there is no medical test, such as a blood test. Diagnosis is based on the child’s developmental history and behavior.
It is possible to detect autism at 18 months of age or younger. A reliable diagnosis can be made by an experienced professional by the age of 2. Many children do not receive a final diagnosis until they are much older. A person may not be diagnosed with schizophrenia until they are an adult or an adolescent. As a result, people with ASD might not receive the early assistance they need.
To ensure that children with ASD receive the services and supports they need, it is important to diagnose them as early as possible.
Anxiety disorders and depression are often treated similarly. It is often possible to tailor therapy to an individual in order to reduce symptoms of both disorders.
There are several types of psychotherapy that are effective. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) replaces negative and unproductive thinking patterns with more realistic and productive ones. In these treatments, specific steps are taken to overcome anxiety and depression. Recovery often involves facing one’s fears as part of the treatment process. The use of interpersonal therapy and problem-solving therapy is also effective.
Reports written by doctors or other health professionals for legal proceedings are known as expert witness reports (also known as medico-legal reports). Medical or allied expert witness reports are written evidence. For actual or potential litigation, medico-legal reports are written by experts.
An expert witness’ report provides the court with various details, processes, and information about the evidence and incident. Using his or her knowledge and expertise, the expert recreates, reconstructs, or better understands the activities that led to the injury and then records them.
There are several serious clinical problems that marriage and family therapists treat, including depression, marital problems, anxiety, individual psychological problems, and problems between parents and children.
Many mental health problems, such as schizophrenia in adults, affective disorders in adults, alcoholism and drug abuse in adults, conduct disorders in children, adolescent drug abuse, anorexia in young adult women, childhood autism, chronic physical illness in adults and children, and marital distress and conflict, can be treated more effectively by marriage and family therapy.
On average, marriage and family therapists conduct 12 sessions of short-term therapy per year. Approximately 65.6% of cases are resolved within 20 sessions, 87.9% within 50 sessions. The average individualized treatment (13 sessions) takes longer than marriage/couples therapy (11.5 sessions) and family therapy (9 sessions). One-on-one therapy accounts for half of the treatment provided by marriage and family therapists, while the other half is divided between marital/couple and family therapy.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), doctors diagnose ADHD in almost 11% of children aged 5 to 17 years. Approximately 2.5% of adults suffer from the condition, but doctors typically diagnose it in school-age children.
Symptoms include hyperactivity, impulsivity, and difficulty focusing. While children with ADHD may have difficulty sitting still and become easily distracted, adults with ADHD may have trouble managing their relationships, forgetfulness, and mood changes.
Individuals with ADHD cannot be diagnosed with a single test. A combination of physical exams, behavioral tests, and questionnaires is typically used by doctors.
Even though ADHD has no cure, treatment can reduce symptoms and improve daily functioning. Read on to learn more about ADHD screening, including how to prepare and what to expect.
A therapist has between ten and forty years of experience, is accredited, and is insured to practice in a private setting.
To ensure you receive the highest quality care, we select our therapists rigorously and support them with a Clinical Director.
Are you unsatisfied with your first consultation? Free consultations with other therapists are available.
It may appear confusing to distinguish between these different terms, but they are all used to describe a consultation with a professional. The right person will be connected to you by our experts.
All talk therapies are referred to as counselling in the UK. In a safe, supportive environment, you share what’s troubling you with someone trained to help you understand yourself better. In order to live a more fulfilling and effective life, you must find a way to achieve it.
Like a friend, a counsellor is unbiased and not invested in your choices. There is no advice offered by them. Through years of training, they have become highly skilled listeners who know just what questions to ask so that you can find your own answers.
An honest and attentive look at one’s self and their issues is available to anyone who is willing to accept help. People who are willing to make the effort and commit, and who recognize that change can be challenging.
It is not necessary to be in a crisis to attend counselling sessions. There are no limits to the issues and areas of life it can help with. Counseling can be helpful in a variety of situations, from gaining more confidence at work to resolving a relationship breakdown or dealing with an unresolved childhood issue.
It takes three or four years to complete a general counsellor program in counselling theory and skills. In most cases, they work with clients for a short or medium period of time.
Counselling psychologists have similar training to counsellors and psychotherapists, but they also hold a psychology degree, giving them scientific understanding of human behavior.
Our counsellors all have a minimum of seven years of professional experience. With empathy and openness, they listen without forcing you to take a particular course of action, but assist you in making positive choices.
During your first meeting, you may discuss scheduling and cancellation policies. In addition, your counsellor will ask you about your life history and what made you decide to try counselling.
The goal of counselling sessions is to explore the problems you are facing. In a counseling session, your counsellor will listen carefully to what you say, reflect back what you said, and then ask you questions to clarify your thoughts and feelings.
CBT counsellors (especially) may set an agenda for each session and work through practical, skills-based exercises with you. Additionally, you may be given homework or other things to think about outside of your sessions.
Counseling services we provide include:
Counseling is available in a variety of formats, including:
You may need to discuss uncomfortable or painful things during therapy. Your therapist is there to support you throughout the process, and you might feel lighter afterward.
Is there a set number of sessions I need to attend?
Depending on the issue you’re working on. Counselling may take the form of a single session or a series of sessions over a period of weeks or months.
The experience of counselling is unique to each individual. You will be able to achieve your desired results to some extent depending on what you want from the experience.
Generally, results include:
Psychotherapy encompasses a variety of talking therapies. Having someone listen to what worries you helps you better understand yourself and your situation.
As a result of psychotherapy, you will be able to cope more effectively with your past and present challenges and make decisions about your future that will enhance your wellbeing. The therapy sessions can be conducted individually, as a couple, as a family, or as a group.
Psychotherapy includes the following types:
In the UK, the terms are interchangeable. A psychotherapist may call themselves a counsellor, for example. Psychotherapy tends to be more in-depth and long-term than counseling, but the real difference is simply the training of your therapist.
It is valuable for anyone interested in self-understanding and pursuing happiness in their lives to attend a session. The benefits of psychotherapy do not depend on whether you are going through a crisis.
There is no quick fix when it comes to psychotherapy. A commitment to yourself and the process is necessary for therapy to be effective.
Psychotherapy can be used to treat a variety of issues.
Any challenge or issue in life can be addressed with psychotherapy. Relationship problems, family problems, work issues, addictions, and depression and anxiety are all examples of this type of depression.
Find out what psychotherapy treatments have proven effective for certain problems.
The effectiveness of your therapy is predicted by your ability to trust and get along with your therapist. Our psychotherapists have a minimum of seven years of professional experience compassionately supporting clients. Our goal is to create the highest standard of therapy possible.
Weekly sessions typically last around 50 minutes and take place at the same time and place each week. The psychotherapist will give you their full attention and encourage you to discuss and explore your feelings and thoughts about yourself, your relationships, your past, and what you are currently finding challenging.
There will be no judgement or directives from your therapist, just an attempt to understand you, and then a series of useful questions that will help you explore things further.
The type of therapy you choose may also include mindfulness or visualization techniques.
We handpick our psychotherapists for their skill, compassion, and expertise, and they consistently receive excellent feedback. Contact them today for confidential advice, or schedule an appointment online now.
Psychologists who practice counseling psychology use psychological principles to promote positive growth, well-being, and mental health in individuals, families, groups, and the community as a whole. In their research and practice, counselling psychologists emphasize collaboration, development, multiculturalism, and wellness.
Individuals they work with experience distress and difficulties related to a variety of life events and transitions, decision-making, work/career/education, family and social relationships, and mental health and physical health problems.
Besides remediation, counselling psychologists also engage in prevention, psychoeducation, and advocacy. Counseling psychology shares research and professional domains with other professions, such as clinical psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and mental health counselling.
In counselling psychology, a set of core values is adhered to:
(a) Counseling psychologists believe that individuals are agents of their own change, and their preexisting strengths and resourcefulness as well as the therapeutic relationship are central mechanisms of change;
(b) When assessing, diagnosing, and conceptualizing a case, counseling psychology is holistic and client-centered; and when considering internal factors, individual differences, and familial/systemic influences, it considers social context and culture;
And (c) the counseling process is pursued with sensitivity to diverse sociocultural factors unique to each individual.
Counseling psychologists work in a variety of settings and employ a variety of evidence-based and theoretical approaches that are based on psychological knowledge. Counseling psychologists work in collaboration with individuals in public agencies, independent practices, schools, universities, health care settings, and corporations to alleviate distress, facilitate well-being, and maximize effectiveness.
